As the curtain rises on (DT)2, the ferocious dancers emerge as fairy-tale creatures in the lyrically narrative Pilotąs Dream, morph into high-voltage conduits in the hyper-kinetic Charge, and finally cast themselves into the absurdist spiral of Wardrobe Spectre. www.dusantynek.org

Marie Sester:
L'Architecture du Paradis

December 6, 2003-January 31, 2004 (closed December 21-January 1)
Open Tue-Sat, 2-6pm
Opening reception: December 6 (Sat) 6pm-8pm

For her first one-person exhibition in New York, French architect/artist Marie Sester navigates visitors through five ideal cities (Babylon, Jerusalem, Atlantis, New York, Paradise), exploring urban archetypes that have permeated the Western imagination for centuries. The five-channel video installation features a mesmerizing layering of x-rayed luggage and vehicles, aerial photos and architectural plans, sporadically interrupted by sound and light effects.

An Evening of Modern Turkish Poetry

December 9 (Tues) 7pm $10

The poetic activity that swept Turkey through the 20th century marks one of the most exciting—though least known—moments in world literature. Celebrating the publication of Talisman House's long-awaited, encyclopedic anthology of Turkish poetry, the event features readings by poet, translator and anthology editor Murat Nemet-Nejat (A Blind Cat Black; I, Orhan Veli); Küçük Iskender, one of Turkey's most celebrated living poets; and Talisman founder Ed Foster.
