Either/Or
Either/Or presents its 6th annual Spring Festival of contemporary chamber music as part of The Kitchen’s 40th anniversary. Thursday’s concert ranges from the 1970s genesis of New York’s experimental music scene to the present with music of Robert Ashley, George Lewis, Steve Reich, and new works from Richard Carrick and Andrew Byrne. Friday focuses on the European margins with rarities from Luigi Nono, Horatiu Radulescu, Giacinto Scelsi, alongside recent works of Raphaël Cendo and Erin Gee.
Music programs at The Kitchen are made possible with generous support from The Amphion Foundation, the Mary Flagler Cary Charitable Trust, The Aaron Copland Fund for Music, and with public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency.
