Pam Tanowitz: Untitled (The Blue Ballet)

All tickets for this show are sold out. There is a waiting list available which begins at 7pm in person at the Box Office on the night of the performance.

Choreographer Pam Tanowitz collaborates with renowned new music ensemble FLUX Quartet, putting her new choreography to avant-garde composer Morton Feldman's challenging String Quartet #1. In keeping with the composition, Untitled (The Blue Ballet) reduces ballet steps and traditional signifiers to a new kind of language steeped in questions of presence and absence. At the same time, Tanowitz’s work digs deeply into the lives and histories of its classically trained performers to reveal the layers of personal experience behind every phrase they dance. Featuring Sasha Dmochowski, Jean Freebury, John Heginbotham, Brian Reeder, and Ashley Tuttle. Lighting and set design by Philip Treviño. Costumes by Karen Young.

Untitled (The Blue Ballet) is made possible by support from the Jerome Robbins Foundation, American Music Center Live Music for Dance Program, and The Joyce Theater Residency Program.
