No J*** At My Funeral

Artist(s): James Nares

Date: May 11, 1980

By James Nares with Jackie, Michael McClard, Lindzee Smith, One Night Only May 11, 8:30pm

The censored and offensive title is a reference to Lord Mountbatten's demand that representatives from Japan not be invited to attend his funeral. He was assassinated by the IRA in August 1979. The film is an hour-long interview between Nares and a former IRA (Irish Republican Army) member who shares his experiences during the conflict in Northern Ireland in the 1970s.

The decision to censor the title of the record was made by the archivist.
